![]() There aren't enough functioning LLVs - The one I took last sunday had a rear light out, bad transmission or something that cause it to die going uphill. PM must have been furious that they lost out of their Bonus for not having the Amazon routes generated! Usually I get a thank you after texting my green card - the time the clerk goofed up the routes I got dead silence. Often the clerk scans them in wrong, or can't figure out the computer because who knows, they don't care they just want to go home. We now just show up to 1 clerk who prints out every1s "Route Barcode" - load up an LLV of choice - deliver - return to an empty closed office - take picture of green card and send to PM/Sup. Trust me, If I had the opportunity to fill up the LLVs on Sunday and get paid to do it - I would. ![]() My last hour that day the needle was under the E. I have asked for the card before and was told that I would be fine with a quarter tank, or to take a different LLV (it was the only LLV). I have never witnessed an LLV ever get filled up on a Sunday City or Rural. Gas cards are locked up in a safe - Most of the RCAs don't have a PIN - and the last 10 weeks I have done Amazon Sunday the "supervisor" was at Home supervising from their Phone. Sunday Amazon at USPS is all anyone has to look at the see that USPS Management is INCOMPETENT. Again, they are FORCING us to use it now and deliver in sequence.Ĥ) They pay to have a supervisor sit and eat Burger King all day while we are out delivering. There are better apps out there, and a Carrier's brain will always generate a more efficient/safe route. Now going into monday they have to pay a bunch of CCAs to take all the LLVs out and fill them up because a RuRal did an 80 mile Sunday Amazon route and they won't pay us (rurals) on sunday to fill it up.ģ) The route generation software is absolute TRASH. ![]() PoV's are safer, faster dismounts, use less gas, can go faster than 25 miles up a 1 mile hill. The passed few Sundays I have seen management try all the tricks they can to "save money" and each time the real issues just keep getting ignored and we waste more and more.ġ) Amazon is allowed to drop their pallets late without penalty (on 4/15 me and 3 other rural carriers got paid to sit on the Dock for 1 hour while 1 clerk sorted 600 parcels that Amazon brought hours late).Ģ) PoV use for RuRal - and probably even City - delivery is flat out LESS EXPENSIVE. I don't think it is no rules, but that it is the WRONG rules. I don't mind the fiasco that it is every Sunday. All went well for a couple of years until a clerk filed on carriers doing clerk work - so naturally - no more Christmas parcel delivery - until much later. In the middle of the last decade of the last century RCA's and city carriers ( mainly retired military ) at my office came in to run Christmas parcels. ![]() Don't know if your Assistant District Representative would get involved. If a clerk was brought in prior to 6 am - that should qualify for night-time differential That may encourage PM to bring in a clerk or two. If you know any clerks, let them know so they can file and get paid for the work the carriers are doing. Unfortunately none of the above deal with reporting times, if clerks should be working, etc. Step 4 ( S-106 ) - Sunday/Holiday Parcel Delivery Work List ( 2016 ) USPS letter dated - Sunday Package Delivery Work List - Rural Carriers.
